24th Annual 'Just Say No To Drugs' Tournament Championship Games at Helfear Field

 

9/10  Championship Game between Sheriff Association and Burger King

Jacob Schoff's triple in the top of the first drove in three runs to give the Sheriff's Association an early lead. Austin Pankratz led off with a walk. Brandon Mateski followed with a walk and Jack Chestnut reached on a fielders choice.

Burger King responded in the bottom of the first with two runs. Justin Siltala and Spencer Schmidt open the inning with walks. With one out Christine Pelt singled scoring Siltala. Chase Krisor then walked and Zach Ward followed with a single scoring Schmidt.

In the top of the fifth Sheriff scored four runs. Austin Lang led off with a walk. Brandon Jones reached on an error. Brandon Mateski and Chestnut followed with rbi singles and Schoff's single plated the final two runs of the inning.

Blake Schwandt pitched innings two through five for the Sheriff. He limited the Burger King offense to one hit, one walk, and struck out ten. Schoff pitched the final inning allowing one hit but striking out the side.

Sheriff scored their final two runs in the fifth on four walks and Schwandt's second hit of the game giving Sheriff a 10 - 2 win.

Every member of the Sheriff team will be awarded a championship medal and ribbon .

11/12 Championship game between firefighters and Lee Plumbing

Austin Vasquez limited Lee Plumbing to one run, one hit, one walk, and struck out ten in five and one third innings. Vasquez also started the game with a bang by belting a two run homer to center field. Mark Molinaro led off the first with a single. Austin Schmidt reached on a fielders choice and scored on Vasquez's home run.

In the bottom of the first, Mitchell Buban started the inning by singling and scored on Jacob Burden's double. Burden was then caught stealing. With two out Steven Lindsey singled.

The top of the fifth produced four runs for the Firefighters. With one out Vasquez and Jake Foster singled. Nick Guarascio followed with an rbi single. Luke Westhoff was walked loading the bases. Dom Milisauskas two out two run single completed the scoring giving the Firefighters a 6-1 victory.

Every member of the Firefighter team will receive a championship medal and ribbon.
